In this Policy, we use the terms “Scibids”, “Scibids Technology”, “our”, “us” and “we” to refer to Scibids Technology SAS. By symmetry, « you », « your », « yours », « member(s) », « user(s) » refers to anyone whose data is collected within the framework of one of our services governed by this Privacy Policy.

We provide a cutting-edge bid engine to improve the media buyers’ investment strategies, leading them to more efficiency for them and for you.

Your privacy is very important to us.

This privacy policy of information and commitments made by Scibids (hereafter the « Privacy Policy ») detail the main principles we apply to data collected by our systems:

  • what we collect
  • what it is used for
  • which measures are implemented by Scibids to ensure the confidentiality and the security of the information, guaranteed by the French law

What Data do we collect?

From the beginning, Scibids has always dedicated all needed means to meet customers’ and Internet users’ expectations concerning privacy protection and commercial matters. We want to make the Internet a better place by providing the means to our customers to expose Internet users to ads in the most relevant way (less frequently, but with more impact).

To do so, Scibids needs to access Navigation Data attached to their device(s) and to the web browsers used by their device(s).

“Navigation Data” refers to Data related to connections of any device to the Internet. It concerns, in particular,

  • the device’s IP (Internet Protocol) Address
  • the date and time of connection of the device
  • the URL of the page accessed by the device
  • the URL of the page from which the user comes from (aka the “referrer”).
  • the language of use, type and version of the web browser used by the device
  • the type and version of the operating system used by the device

In order to provide our services, we process Navigation Data in respect of this Privacy Policy. We do not collect users’ names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or similar personally identifiable information through our services.

We collect information through the use of pixels. A pixel is a 1×1 image which can be delivered by our systems if requested by a browser. This request allows us to record the aforementioned datapoints without using any cookie or any persistent code or file which would be attached to the user’s browser or device. The use of a pixel allows us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular site or page. Additional information from an earlier period or interaction, which may include interest, demographic or other information intended to provide users with more useful and relevant online advertising, may be included in the request’s URL by partners or third party data providers.

Please notice we do not use cookies to collect information.

How do we use these Data and on what legal basis?

We use the Data collected through our Services to analyze which media exposure opportunities lead to the best results for our customers who are media buyers. Then, we provide bid engines which are systems able to modify and improve the media buying strategies of our customers. This way, we aim at providing you with the most useful and relevant online advertising while improving the performance of our customers’ campaigns. We also keep some Navigation Data to prevent any violation of the conditions of use of our services.The processing of Data is thus based on our as well as our customer’s legitimate interests, which consist of improving the performance of our customers’ campaigns. This Data is used by Scibids only and is not disclosed to any third party, with the exception of our processor for the storage of the Data, as provided below. We retain the Data collected for the duration of our relationship with our customer, and six months beyond this period, to be able to respond to any requests they may have on the Data. By way of derogation the deletion of the Data can take place before this date at the express request of our customer.

Storage and processing of the data

The Data is stored and processed on the Google Cloud Platform, byGoogle LLC 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, on servers located within the European Union.

Scibids commitments and security

Scibids takes the security of your information seriously, and we take measures to protect our Data from unauthorized access. Our Data is stored in centers that provide the highest quality security for your personal informations. Scibids protects the personal Data and privacy of its users in accordance with the strictest European and French rules applicable in the matter, in particular EU General Data Protection Regulation dated April 27, 2016. You can contact us for further information, at any time, by writing to us at privacy@scibids.com. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect against unauthorized access to, unlawful processing of, unauthorized retention of, and unauthorized disclosure of Data. These standards include undertaking necessary physical, electronic, and management activities required to protect Data integrity, access, and use. Any Data that is stored on our servers or on our processor’s servers is treated as confidential information. Please keep in mind, however, that despite these efforts to protect Data, no method of transmission over the Internet is guaranteed to be secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect such Data at all times, we cannot guarantee its absolute security and shall not be liable for any breach of security in relation to any such Data. This Privacy Policy does not apply to services or Data processing implemented by Our Partners, or to the practices of Third Parties outside of Scibids, upon which Scibids does not exercise any control.

Your rights regarding the processing of your Data

To implement one or several of the rights provided below, please contact us at privacy@scibids.com. Please note however that since the Data we collect is subject to pseudonymisation, we are not able to link any Data with a specific individual unless such individual provides us with his or her personal ID number on the DSP platform(s) we work with. Hence, we will only be able to implement your rights if you provide us with this information.
Right to access, rectify and object.
You have the right to obtain the communication and, if necessary, the rectification or erasure of your Data.
You may also at any time oppose the processing of your Data. We may, however, be required to continue such processing if there are legitimate grounds for the processing that prevail over your rights and freedoms or if the processing is necessary to ascertain, exercise or defend our rights in court.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to obtain the limitation of the processing of your Data, in the following cases:
– During the verification period that we implement, when you dispute the accuracy of your Data,
– When the processing of this Data is illegal, and you want to limit this treatment rather than delete your Data,
– When we no longer need your Data, but want to keep it to exercise your rights,
– During the verification period for legitimate reasons, when you objected to the processing of your Data.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, (the French National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties or “CNIL” for France), in the Member State in which is located your habitual residence, your place of work or the place where the violation of your rights would have been committed, if you consider that the processing of your Data as provided by this Privacy Policy constitutes a violation of the applicable laws. Such complaint may be exercised without prejudice to any other claim before an administrative or jurisdictional court.

If we make revisions that affect whether or how we collect or use personal information, we will change the privacy statement accordingly, and other documents we deem appropriate.
